It was an honor to give my third #commencement speech

It was an honor to give my third #commencement speech this past weekend!

Writing the speech caused me to reflect.

I remember feeling so odd during my own graduation in 2016.

For 3 years, my goal was to attend law school, for Environmental Law and Policy.

I kept my #GPA high, visited reputable schools, turned down lucrative opportunities, and even took the LSAT - the Law School Admissions Test

But I had this weird, irrational feeling...

That after all that work, I shouldn't attend law #school at all. I wanted to become an entrepreneur. I never studied #entrepreneurship, nor had I operated a business at this point, but I was absurdly determined.

In each commencement address, I've emphasized following *your* path. Listening to your voice, no matter how irrational, especially when you're young.

It didn't make sense then, but it's crystal clear now. I decided to follow my passion.

Now I have endless energy and interest in the work I do and the #businesses I own.

Young people: Your path is YOUR path, not anyone else's.

Sometimes you have to tune other people out to get a sense of direction. Sometimes you must take the first steps alone.

Forunately, time is on your side. Do the necessary #experiments to find your path early. Make mistakes! The world is your #laboratory.
