What does the black community look like in the future?
On the last day of #BlackFutures Month, I think of the notion of Afro-Futurism.
What does the black community look like in the future? What do we create? What skills do we have? Here's my vision:
1) Next Gen Art - As #NFT spaces are growing, I consider the possibilities of music, graphics, and animation - Our artistic abilities will evolve to meet the interests of consumers.
2) Decision-Makers in advanced tech - Fascinating technologies like AI, Genomics Research, 3D Printing, Robotics, #VR and others will radically disrupt society - though proper education, our community can make key decisions in these spaces to ensure equitable allocation of resources.
3) Fashion Icons - I'm excited about the possibilities of wearable tech and practical applications of them such as #biometrics and predictive/preventative medicine.
4) Economic Empowerment - #Blockchain technology, while still in its infancy, has the potential to empower a generation of diverse young creatives, entrepreneurs and individuals who otherwise wouldn't have access to wealth building opportunities. I'm excited to see where this goes!
Subjective opinion- some of the most creative people I've met in my entire life were from my community on the south side of Chicago.
Imagine if we augment that creativity with key #STEM skills. The sky is the limit!
