Tips to elevate the #production quality of your #video calls

Having a great #webcam setup gives you a first impression like no other! Here are 4 tips to elevate the #production quality of your #video calls:

1) Video - These days most DSLR or Mirrorless #Cameras can be connected to you computer via an HDMI cable and a capture card. I use my Sony A7S III with a Sigma lens as a webcam, but there are more budget-friendly options out there. Anytime I'm giving virtual #speaking engagements or doing virtual TV interviews, people are immediately impressed with the quality.

2) Audio - Having broadcaster audio can make you sound like a true #professional, but it's also important to find the mic that works for your vocal range. There are a lot of pretty solid RODE or BLUE microphones for entry-level #audio. I personally use my Voice Over Mic, the Electro-Voice RE20.

3) Lighting - So many people underestimate the importance of good #lighting. If your lighting set up is terrible, it almost doesn't matter how good of a camera you have. I have mounted my setup with soft LED lights on my front and sides, and positioned my camera so that a lot of natural light reaches my face during the day.

4) Background - Your background is an opportunity to subtly express yourself! There are varying opinions on what looks the most professional. I like a "depth of field" look, where my background is somewhat #blurred out. Some people like to have a distinct color palette. Some people set up plants or a book shelf showcase their favorite reads.

If you combine all 4 of these pieces, you'll definitely make a lasting impression on anyone you interact with #virtually!
