NYC has been a wild ride.
Closing a chapter of my life at the end of this week. NYC has been a wild ride.
When I first moved here 4 years ago, I had no job, no business plan, no network, no family here, no LLC, and no idea how I was going to survive after 6 months.
All I had was a vision, that I was going to find a way to excite young people about #STEM and STEM careers. I bet my savings, my reputation and my livelihood on being able to figure that out.
Looks like I figured out a thing or two 😉
A few lessons learned:
1) Your vibe attracts your tribe. If you put yourself out there enough, your energy will attract all the resources, people, opportunities and constructive feedback you need. Especially in NYC.
2) Be hungry, but never thirsty. Follow up with people twice, then send a third "break-up email" letting them know you wish you could've worked together. Don't be too cool to follow-up with a busy person, but don't chase after people that clearly don't view you as a priority.
3) YOU NEED REVENUE TO BE AN #ENTREPRENEUR. IF YOU AREN'T MAKING MONEY, YOU WILL INEVITABLY CRASH & BURN.
Hope this helps someone considering taking a leap! More info about my next big move soon 👀🚀😉
